Temperatures drop, drop drop. Friday morning the thermometer annonced 8°C (46.4° F)... very cold for the season !!! So I decided to go to the cupboard to remove my winter stuff : gloves, parka with fur and wool coat and finally the snoods and scarves. Last winter was particularly cold (-12°C/10.4°F in the morning). I decided to knit a big warm snood and here it comes !!!
Easy to knit, it's done in point de bourse : I couldn't find the English name. If someone can leave a comment to tell me the English name, I will be very pleased.
I knitted a big rectangle of 35 cm width on 180 cm length. Each color band mesures 45 cm.
In order to have a thick aspect, you must use a wool that is knitted with 5mm needles minimum. The number of stitches to cast on depends on your wool. Cast on your stitches loosely.
Once you reach the desired length, bind off loosely.
Weave in ends
Sew both extremities. Personally I chose to sew a flat snood and not a Moëbius snood. It's your choice !!
As it's a long snood, I advise to sew flat the snood because you'll be making a turn around your neck.
Happy knitting !!!
