A Tim Burton's Mad Hatter costume

New year, new costume : last year, it was Princess Peach costume. I'll try to take time to traduce the tutorials for you. As every year, my husband company holds a party and this party is costumed. This year theme is fantastic.

My husband plays live role-play. So the easy solution was to wear his warrior costume with leather armor, a shield huge as a garage door and a big latex sword. But he doesn't like easy solutions. After a lot of thinking he came out with a Mad Hatter costume as Johnny Depp wears in Tim Burton's film.

Big challenge !!!!

As much as I know how to sew a dress, so I've never attacked sewing a jacket. So we decided to look for clothes that could look like the costume in the film. Fortunately the yard sales season is not over and there's always Emmaüs which sells a lot second hand clothes.

Finally when I have a look at the photo of this post, we manage to have a good-looking costume despite the shipping problems. The party was to take place on the friday evening and the clown white and the hat-wig ordered on Amazon arrived respectively on the following saturday morning and monday morning. Right after the party... We had then to go to a costume shop to buy those elements (luckily there's one near my husband's office).
